We are receiving reports of driveway paving scams, again. Please be aware of shady business practices of those claiming to perform resurfacing of driveways. These suspects usually target the elderly. Check their credentials; bonded, insured. If you think something is wrong with these guys, call the police. According to the Georgia Drug and Narcotics Agency the number of deaths related to prescription drug overdoses is now higher than deaths related to illicit drug overdoses in Georgia .
 
The Office of National Drug Control Policy says that abuse of prescription painkillers now ranks second, only behind marijuana, as the Nation's most prevalent illegal drug problem.

•  ***Update***Bank Robbery (02/18/10 @ 1648 hours in Zone 1) The Cobb County Police Department's Robbery Squad continues to investigate the robbery of a bank, which occurred at 125 Ernest Barrett Parkway in Marietta, Georgia.

According to investigators, a male entered the Chase Bank and approached a bank teller. At some point, the male handed the teller a “demand note” with instructions on it. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller, the male fled on foot from the business in an unknown direction.

Offender:    White male, 5'08” tall, 170 lbs. He was described as being between 35-40 years of age. He was also clean shaven and had “medium colored hair”. He was last seen wearing a light colored jacket, a white tee shirt, a tan baseball cap, tan pants and metal frame prescription glasses.

Incident: Bank Robbery

Location: RBC Bank

2743 Chastain Meadows Pkwy

Kennesaw , GA

Time and Date: 121809 @ 1410 hours

On 121809 @ 1410 hours, a white male entered the

RBC Bank located at 2743 Chastain Meadows Pkwy.

The white male approached a teller counter, produced

a hand written note and attempted to rob the

bank. During the robbery, the phone at the teller

station rang, and the robber walked out. The robber

was last seen walking towards or into the Wal-Mart

which is located directly behind the bank .

Suspect Description: White Male, 40-50, clean

shaven, 5'10", heavy set, LSW a blue jean jacket,

with a dark blue shirt underneath, blue jean pants,

clear prescription glasses, and a white ball cap.

Location: Bank of America

2597 George Busbee Pkwy

Kennesaw , GA

Time and Date: 121609 @ 1224 hours

On 121609 @ 1224 hours, a white male entered the

Bank of America located at 2597 George Busbee

Pkwy. The white male approached a teller and provided

her with a bank note that demanded money

from her location. The teller complied with the note

and gave the robber an undisclosed amount of

money. The suspect fled from the bank through the

south doors and was last seen running towards Barrett

Parkway

Suspect Description: W/M, 30 years of age, clean

shaven, LSW a light colored Georgia Tech ball cap

with "GT" on the front, a dark zip up jacket, blue

jeans and dark sunglasses.

Incident: Bank Robbery

Location: BB & T

676 Chastain Rd

Kennesaw , GA

Time and Date: 121609 @ 1524 hours

On 121609 @ 1524 hours, a white male entered the

BB&T Bank located at 676 Chastain Rd. The white

male verbally demanded cash from a teller. The teller

observed the suspect reveal a black semi-automatic

handgun from the sweatshirt he was wearing. The

teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of

money and he fled the bank towards Los Reyes Restaurant

west of the bank. He was possibly seen entering a

white pickup truck with a chrome tool chest in the

back.

Suspect Description: White Male, mid 20's, clean

shaven, 5'07"-5'08", LSW a green hooded sweatshirt,

blue jean pants, a camouflage hat with the Under Armour

symbol stitched in yellow.
